Christchurch Earthquakes

 Welcome back to my blog today we will be learning about The Christchurch Earthquakes so here are my 

1. Because the earthquake was shallow and people were sleeping in there house

2. 6,659 people were injured

3. Liquefaction: A mix of Mud,Sand and Water that came up from underground and made mini Volcanoes

4. 115 people died in the CTV Building 

5. Ginormous,Massive,Big

it was the breaking of the rocks that caused the earthquakes

the earthquake destroyed many Buildings 

the port hills fault turned on the the christchurch 

 

The Pike River Mine Disaster

 What do I think i know about this disaster: I know that this happen in a  Mine cause of an potential explosion and that many people died in this disaster

What do I think I will find out about this disaster: What made the explosion and how many people died in this terrible incident

Read and Research:

1. On the West Coast of New Zealand

2. In November 2008 but this was built in 2005

3. 31 miners inside the mine 

4. 2 people got out of the mine 

5. To try to recover the bodies that were still in the mine

6. Jacinda promised everyone to unseal and retrieve the bodies from the mine

3. There were 4 but 1 sinked so 3 boats

4. I think to jump in the water and try to swim to shore

5. I think cause some of the boats sunk

so lets get Started. I have been reading this journal called Pencarrow by Tricia Glensor it

is all about the first light house in New Zealand.

but now here are some facts about lighthouses before I read the journal to

you.

Facts:

1. The first lighthouse in the world is called the Egypt's Pharos of Alexandria.

2. The Country that has the most lighthouses is United States of America I think

3. The most photographed light house is The Portland head light 

4. The most visited Lighthouse is the Eastern point Light house I think it was Located in USA

5. Henry Winstanley was the first person to invent the first light house

What I know about this Disaster:

I never knew this disaster really happend so I don't know anything 

from this disaster

What I want to know about this Disaster:

anything and everything that happend

Reaserch:

These are the Questions I need to Answers

#1. 258 people were on board

#2. At 8pm at Mount Ruapehu

#3. About 10:15 

#4. Cause there was a man waving a torch Signaling the driver to stop

#5. Cause there was some brave people that helped save some of the Survivors

#6. A moderated Lahar

Notes:

1. 28 people survived 

2. 151 people died 

3. most of the bodies were not found

4. I think most of the dead bodies found had to be taken to an Army camp

5. little bit of people that lived by the incident came to help
